Would you let your 15 year old sleep over his female friends’ house? Would you let your 12 year old son sleep over his female friends house? Is there a difference because of the age, or does it not matter? Or does it matter because it’s a boy sleeping over a girls’ house? Certainly we wouldn’t have any problem with our boys sleeping over their guy friends’ houses or... 
I’m sure everyone is familiar with the saying “Bro’s before hoes”. And I’m sure many of you are nodding your head in agreement. But when do you (men, that is) decide that the woman is in fact not a hoe and, therefore, must come before the bro’s?
This past weekend my 12 year old son faced this challenging choice.

I’m sure many of you out there can relate when I say that this “bromance” thing is not something that was very common when we were growing... 
I’m really not that old (although my 12 year old would beg to differ), but I’m about to start this post like a grandparent would start off telling a story about when they were younger, so bear with me.
Ok, here it goes…..When I was younger, ugh that left a nasty taste in my mouth, when anyone wanted to fight (you know the infamous “I’ll meet you behind the school”... 
Just when I was starting to feel pretty good about myself and my “mothering” capabilities, alas, I am bitch slapped back to reality.
The notion that one of your children could be a mean spirited individual or a bully is a devastating thought. After all, what does that say about you? But worse then that, is the shock of learning that your child, the one who is generous and charming, attentive... 
“Grab your balls and pull her to the side and explain to her your side of the story.”
That was the text message I sent to my 11 year old (albeit he was about three feet in front of me, but surrounded by his friends, I was not going to embarrass him). It was the day of his promotion ceremony to 6th grade and we had linked up with some other moms and their children at the bowling alley for some... 
My journey into motherhood began when I was 17 years old. Today, I am the mother of two teen boys, 15 and 13, and I am one of the only moms "blogging" about raising teen boys.
